Cassie’s Legal Team Reacts to Diddy Verdict: “She Paved the Way for Justice”

Following the mixed verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal criminal trial, Cassie Ventura’s legal team has released a powerful statement highlighting her pivotal role in sparking the legal proceedings that led to his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

“This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023,” Wigdor said. “Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.”

Cassie’s civil lawsuit, filed in late 2023, was the first major accusation to publicly emerge against Combs, alleging years of abuse and exploitation. While the criminal trial brought mixed outcomes—finding Combs not guilty of sex trafficking—her legal team sees the conviction on prostitution-related charges as a partial victory for survivors.
