Diddy’s Prison Release Date Changes Again Following Solitary Confinement & Inmate Altercation

Sean “Diddy” Combs has received another update to his projected prison release date.

According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, Combs is now expected to be released from federal custody on February 5, 2028, marking yet another change to the music mogul’s projected release timeline.

The latest date comes after several adjustments in recent months. In July, Combs’ projected release was reportedly changed from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028. His release date later appeared as February 20, 2028, before being moved once again to the newly listed February 5 date.

The changes follow reports of an altercation involving Combs and another inmate at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.

According to reports, Combs became involved in a heated confrontation with a fellow inmate that escalated into the two men pushing and scuffling with one another. Prison staff eventually separated them, and Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement following the incident.

He was later released from solitary confinement in August. The Federal Bureau of Prisons previously declined to discuss the specifics surrounding Combs’ housing status or any potential disciplinary action, citing privacy, safety and security concerns surrounding individual inmates.

Combs, 56, has been incarcerated following the conclusion of his highly publicized federal criminal trial. In July 2025, a jury acquitted Combs of racketeering conspiracy and two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. However, he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

With his projected release date now set for February 5, 2028, Combs’ time behind bars continues to generate headlines as one of hip-hop’s most recognizable figures serves his federal sentence.
