Kid Cudi Speaks on Testifying in Diddy Trial — “I Was There for Cassie”

Kid Cudi is opening up about his role in one of the year’s most high-profile court cases.

During a recent sit-down on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the rapper revealed he was one of the witnesses who took the stand during Diddy’s trial back in May. Cudi admitted he didn’t want to be there at first — but once he was on the stand, he knew exactly why he showed up.

“Cassie is my friend and I love her and I want to see her do well,” he said. “When I saw her get married, I was so happy for her that she found someone, her person. When I saw that she was having kids, I was like ‘awe, this is so awesome.’ I’ve always wanted to see her thrive and do well and be happy, cause I know she was living a nightmare.”

Cudi’s words have since struck a chord with fans, many praising him for showing loyalty and compassion in the middle of such a heavy legal battle.
