Sean Kingston to Judge: “Let Me Do My Time at Home!” — Singer Begs for House Arrest Instead of Prison in Wire Fraud Case

Sean Kingston is pulling out all the stops to avoid federal prison time — even asking the judge to let him serve his sentence from the comfort of his own home.

Court docs filed Tuesday reveal the “Beautiful Girls” singer and his attorney are requesting a light sentence of just 2 to 2.5 years, instead of the 5–6 years recommended by federal guidelines. The big ask? To serve it under home confinement so he can keep making music and paying restitution to his fraud victims.

Kingston’s legal team is banking on the fact that he’s never done time before and has a track record of doing good in the community. They included photos of Sean personally handing out meals, organizing toy drives, collecting clothing for those in need, and feeding the unhoused — noting he didn’t just write a check, he “rolled up his sleeves” and got involved.

His lawyer also argues that home confinement will help the victims financially, pointing out that Kingston’s been under house arrest since April while still recording music in his home studio, allowing him to pay some victims back already.

The filings include character letters from his sister Kanema Morris, his grocery store clerk, a delivery guy, and even songwriter Constantin Chavez — the only music industry figure to write on his behalf.

Sean’s plea comes months after he and his mother, Janice Turner, were convicted of wire fraud back in March. Janice has already been sentenced to 5 years in federal prison, but Sean’s hoping the judge will give him a “sweeter” deal when sentencing comes down this Friday, August 15.
