Sidney Starr Breaks Silence, Denies Child Sex Allegations and Vows to Fight Charges in Court

Sidney Starr is speaking out for the first time since her arrest, strongly denying the child sex crime allegations against her and promising to fight the case in court.

In a statement to TMZ, the former Love & Hip Hop: New York personality said she “unequivocally denies the allegations” and intends to “vigorously defend herself through the legal process.”

Starr also urged the public not to confuse allegations with facts, stating, “Allegations should not be mistaken for fact, and public opinion should never replace due process.”

She went on to emphasize that the case should not be viewed as a reflection of the transgender community, saying that one person’s alleged actions should never be used to judge or stigmatize an entire group.

Sidney thanked her supporters for their patience and requested privacy as the legal process unfolds, adding that this will be her only public statement while the case is pending.

As previously reported, Sidney Starr was arrested Sunday and charged with:

• Sexual Battery Against a Child Under 16
• Aggravated Child Molestation
• Sodomy

According to booking records, investigators allege the incident occurred at an Embassy Suites hotel in Hapeville, Georgia. Authorities have accused Starr of performing oral sex on a minor, and the records reportedly state she confessed to the act. Law enforcement has not publicly released additional details because the case involves a juvenile.

Meanwhile, Sidney’s mother, Stephanie Favors, has come to her daughter’s defense, telling TMZ the allegations are completely out of character and that she does not believe Sidney would engage in sexual activity with a minor.

The case has been turned over to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

Sidney Starr is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
