🏃‍♀️💔 Sha’Carri Richardson Breaks Silence on Domestic Violence Arrest — Publicly Apologizes to Christian Coleman & Promises to Get Help

Sha’Carri Richardson is speaking out for the first time since her July 27 arrest — owning up to her actions and offering a heartfelt apology to her boyfriend, fellow track star Christian Coleman.

The Olympic gold medalist took to Instagram, sharing both a video statement and written message addressing the domestic violence incident that landed her in custody at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

“I refuse to run away — not refuse to run, but refuse to run away,” Richardson said in her video. “I’m facing everything that comes to me head-on because everything on the other side is greater, but you’ve got to go through it in order to get there.”

In a more personal note posted to her Instagram Stories, Richardson addressed Coleman directly, expressing regret and gratitude for the love he’s given her despite her past trauma.

“He came into my life and gave me more than a relationship — a greater understanding of unconditional love from what I’ve experienced in my past,” she wrote. “Due to my past trauma and pain, I was blind and blocked off to not only receive it but give it. I love him and to him I can’t apologize enough. My apology should be just as loud as my actions — honestly louder.”

Richardson was booked on a charge of fourth-degree domestic violence assault after video surfaced of her pushing and shoving Coleman during a dispute over headphones. Coleman has since downplayed the situation, telling reporters he didn’t believe she should have been arrested.

“People have emotions and stuff like that,” Coleman said. “She has things she’s gotta work on for herself. So do I, so do you.”

Sha’Carri says she’s now seeking outside help to address those issues, vowing to hold herself accountable and grow from the incident.
