Track star Sha’Carri Richardson is making headlines off the track after being arrested in Orange County, Florida, on a charge of dangerous excessive speeding.

According to jail records, Richardson was booked after officers say they clocked her driving 104 miles per hour in a gray Aston Martin. Authorities allege she was tailgating other vehicles, weaving through traffic, and flashing her headlights at drivers while passing them at high speed. In Florida, driving over 100 mph is considered criminal excessive speeding.

Richardson was reportedly still being held on a $500 bond at the time records were reviewed.

The situation escalated when another vehicle — a black Jeep — pulled up near the traffic stop. Olympic sprinter Christian Coleman exited the Jeep and approached officers to ask what was happening.

Police say when Coleman was asked to identify himself, he refused, which led to his arrest for resisting without violence. During a search of his vehicle, officers reportedly found what was described as a bong-like object, resulting in a drug paraphernalia charge.

Neither Richardson nor Coleman has publicly addressed the incident as of this report.

The arrest comes as both athletes remain prominent figures in track and field, known for their speed, dominance, and headline-making moments. Now, this latest incident has social media buzzing for an entirely different reason.
