Gervonta Davis Arrested In Miami After Weeks-Long Search

Gervonta “Tank” Davis is now in police custody nearly two weeks after Miami Gardens authorities issued a warrant for his arrest tied to serious domestic violence allegations.

According to officials, the undefeated boxing champion was taken into custody on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the Miami Gardens Police Department confirmed the arrest, noting that the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted in the search. Details surrounding how Davis was ultimately located have not been released.

As previously reported, on January 14, authorities announced Davis was wanted on three charges: battery, false imprisonment, and attempted kidnapping. The warrant stems from an alleged incident that reportedly took place in late October at a Miami-area gentleman’s club.

The alleged victim — described as a woman who claimed she had been in an intimate relationship with Davis for approximately five months — told police the altercation occurred around 4:15 a.m. while she was working. According to the police report, she alleged that Davis grabbed her by the back of the head, pulled her hair with one hand and held her by the throat with the other.

She further claimed he forcefully escorted her down a stairway and into a parking garage while maintaining his grip. Once in the parking area, she stated he released her, at which point she ran toward coworkers for safety. The woman reported the incident to authorities two days later.

Law enforcement officials stated that a lead detective reviewed surveillance footage that they say corroborates key elements of her account.

In addition to the criminal case, the woman filed a civil lawsuit against Davis on Halloween over the same alleged altercation.

The legal troubles have already impacted Davis’ career. A highly publicized bout against Jake Paul, originally scheduled for November, was canceled after the allegations surfaced.

Davis’ bond has reportedly been set at $16,000. As of now, neither Davis nor his legal team has issued a public statement regarding the arrest.
