Shedeur Sanders Busted for Allegedly Speeding Over 100 MPH on Highway

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is making headlines for the wrong reasons this week — after being cited for allegedly driving over 100 miles per hour early Tuesday morning, according to court records obtained by TMZ Sports.

The 23-year-old was pulled over around 12:24 AM after authorities clocked him going 41 miles over the posted speed limit. Sanders was reportedly behind the wheel of a 2025 Dodge pickup truck with Colorado license plates at the time of the incident.

The traffic stop resulted in a citation, and Sanders now faces a decision: plead his case in front of a judge on July 3 or pay a $250 fine to resolve the matter quickly.

The timing of the citation comes just months after Sanders joined the Cleveland Browns as a fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Once projected as a potential first-rounder, Sanders’ draft stock fell dramatically, and he ended up being the 144th player selected overall.

Despite the drop, Sanders has been impressing Browns coaches and teammates in offseason workouts with his work ethic and leadership — offering hope that he might outperform his draft position.

Shedeur is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who also served as his college coach at Jackson State and the University of Colorado before the younger Sanders declared for the NFL.

While the citation is a minor legal issue, it puts Shedeur Sanders in the spotlight off the field — something the young quarterback will be looking to move past quickly as he prepares for his rookie season.
