Amerie is Back with New Single “Mine”

Amerie makes her highly anticipated return with her new romantic ballad, “Mine.” Co-written with producer Troy Taylor, the track features heartfelt lyrics that express deep devotion: “Something about you babe, I’ll make you mine / I’ll make you mine / Don’t want no one else / I’ll make you mine.”

“Mine” marks Amerie’s first release since her 2018 EPs 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM, signaling the start of a new musical chapter for the R&B singer. Fans got a taste of what’s to come when Amerie confirmed in November 2024 that she was back in the studio working on her new album. She and Taylor have shared glimpses of their creative process through Instagram Live sessions, building excitement around their collaborations.

One of the first tracks recorded for the new project is “Undeniable,” which they previewed during a live broadcast. Amerie shared that the song was quickly written and recorded, emphasizing the ease of the creative process. “This record is called ‘Undeniable’ and it’s just the very beginning,” she said.

Taylor praised Amerie’s dedication in the studio, noting her commitment to every detail of the song. “Working with Amerie is amazing because she is invested in every note, tone, expression, harmonies and adlibs that comes out.”

Amerie’s upcoming album will be her first full-length release since 2009’s In Love & War, which featured collaborations with artists like Trey Songz, Fabolous, and Lil Wayne.
