AMERIE’S “1 THING” GETS A NEW LIFE! 2Rare Flips the R&B Classic for “Buss Down”

A 2000s R&B classic just got a whole new vibe! 🔥

Philadelphia-bred rapper 2Rare has teamed up with R&B powerhouse Amerie for his latest single and official music video, “Buss Down (1 Thing),” putting a fresh spin on Amerie’s unforgettable 2005 hit, “1 Thing.”

The new track keeps the energy of the original while bringing it into 2Rare’s melodic trap world. Amerie also recorded all-new vocals for the collaboration, giving longtime fans a familiar sound while introducing the classic to a new generation.

Produced by Hitmaka, “Buss Down (1 Thing)” blends 2Rare’s Philly-rooted style with the unmistakable bounce and energy that made Amerie’s original a staple of 2000s R&B.

The accompanying music video, directed by BAHSPOV, matches the song’s vibrant energy while visually connecting two different generations of artists.

The collaboration has been building buzz online, with 2Rare and Amerie dropping behind-the-scenes teasers before the official release.

For 2Rare, the record is more than just a sample or nostalgic flip — it’s a full-circle moment.

The rapper revealed that “1 Thing” dropped when he was only five years old and that he grew up hearing Amerie’s music through his mother.

Now, years later, 2Rare is putting his own spin on a song he grew up hearing — with Amerie herself joining him on the record.

🔥 From hearing “1 Thing” as a kid to making a new version with Amerie — that’s a full-circle moment!
