Nick Cannon Called Out by Alyssa Scott for Allegedly Not Seeing Their Daughter in Over a Month Following Testicle Insurance Joke

Nick Cannon is once again facing scrutiny over his parenting — this time from Alyssa Scott, the mother of his two-year-old daughter, Halo. The tension surfaced after Cannon appeared on Raven-Symoné and Miranda Maday’s Tea Time podcast, where he jokingly revealed he had insured his testicles for $10 million.

During the episode, Cannon explained that the idea, which began as a joke, was taken seriously by personal care brand Dr. Squatch. “It started off like, ‘Yo, this would be a good joke,’ but we really went through with it,” he said. “I got the insurance policy in my office. It’s legit. If I happen to lose one, all the money goes to my kids.”

However, the lighthearted moment didn’t sit well with Scott. She reposted the clip on her Instagram Stories and publicly criticized Cannon for prioritizing humor and headlines over fatherhood. “Ha ha haaa Funny. Any plans on seeing your child? It’s been over a month,” she wrote, tagging Cannon directly. “But good to know she’ll get some of your [money] if anything happens to your balls smh.”

Scott’s post has reignited public debate around Cannon’s ability to juggle responsibilities as a father of 12. In addition to Halo, he shares children with six other women, including pop superstar Mariah Carey, with whom he co-parents twins Monroe and Moroccan.

Cannon and Scott previously lost their son Zen in 2021 to brain cancer at just five months old — a tragedy Cannon has spoken about with heartfelt emotion in past interviews. Despite his often-comedic public persona, Cannon has repeatedly expressed his love for fatherhood. In a 2022 interview with People, he stated, “Every day I just wake up excited as a father… Constantly, from every aspect of it.”

Still, Scott’s latest post has sparked renewed criticism online, with some fans questioning whether Cannon’s demanding schedule and growing family are compromising his ability to be present in each child’s life.
