Kevin Hart Wants Ex-Assistant To Pay $50K After Telling His Secrets
Kevin Hart is taking his legal battle with former assistant Miesha Shakes to the next level and says she should have to pay up for allegedly violating a confidentiality agreement she signed while working for him.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kevin is asking a judge to order Miesha to pay $50,000 in damages for allegedly breaching a non-disclosure agreement after she sat down for an interview with blogger Tasha K.
The comedian and actor previously sued Miesha, who worked as his assistant from 2017 until 2020, claiming she shared private information about his personal life during the interview. Kevin argues that the NDA she signed specifically prohibited her from disclosing confidential information about him.
In the court filing, Kevin claims the interview not only damaged his reputation but also threatened his career and business relationships. Before the interview aired, Hart alleges he received a phone call from one of Tasha K’s associates requesting $250,000 in exchange for preventing the interview from being released.
Kevin says he rejected the offer, reported the alleged extortion attempt to police, and sent a cease-and-desist letter to Tasha K. Despite those efforts, the interview was ultimately published across Tasha K’s platforms.
Miesha has reportedly argued that the NDA is not enforceable because Kevin allegedly failed to comply with certain terms of the agreement. However, Kevin disputes that claim and insists the contract remains valid.
In a declaration filed with the court, Hart emphasized how important his reputation is to his career.
“Working in the entertainment industry, my livelihood depends in part on my reputation and the public’s perception of me,” Hart stated, noting that he is involved in numerous family-oriented projects and major brand endorsements.
Kevin also pointed out that many of his business partnerships rely heavily on maintaining a positive public image.
As a result, he’s asking the court to enforce the NDA’s penalty clause and require Miesha to pay the agreed-upon $50,000 for the alleged breach.
The legal dispute remains ongoing.
