Mary Mary’s Tina Campbell Wants Primary Custody of Kids, Declines Spousal Support in Divorce Response
Trecina “Tina” Campbell is making her position clear in her ongoing divorce from husband Glendon “Teddy” Campbell.
According to new court documents, the Mary Mary singer has officially responded to Teddy’s divorce filing by requesting primary legal and physical custody of the couple’s two minor children. While Tina is asking to be the primary custodial parent, she says she’s open to Teddy receiving visitation with the children.
In her filing, Tina also checked the box asking the court not to award spousal support to either party, signaling she doesn’t want financial support from Teddy and doesn’t want him seeking support from her.
The gospel star lists August 8, 2024, as the couple’s date of separation and states there are no community assets or debts to divide, though the filing does not mention whether the pair has a prenuptial agreement.
The latest filing comes months after Teddy Campbell filed for divorce in Los Angeles County in April, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for ending their marriage. At the time, Teddy did not make any requests regarding child custody in his initial petition.
Tina and Teddy married in August 2000 and have spent more than two decades together while raising a family. Throughout their marriage, Tina became one of gospel music’s biggest stars alongside her sister, Erica Campbell, as one-half of the Grammy Award-winning duo Mary Mary, known for blending gospel, R&B, and contemporary music into chart-topping hits.
With both parties now officially responding through the courts, the next chapter of their divorce proceedings will likely focus on custody arrangements for their children.
