Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, has been ordered to pay more than $50 million to Lapattra Jacobs following a civil case stemming from a 2020 stabbing incident at NBA YoungBoy’s home in Texas.

A Harris County judge awarded Jacobs $40,105,000 in compensatory damages and another $10 million in exemplary damages, bringing the total judgment to $50,105,000, before applicable interest and court costs.

The compensatory award includes more than $8 million for past damages, including medical expenses, pain and suffering, physical impairment, lost earning capacity and disfigurement. Approximately $32 million was awarded for future damages in those categories, reflecting the court’s findings regarding the lasting impact of Jacobs’ injuries.

The judge also awarded the additional $10 million in exemplary damages after finding that Mayweather’s conduct constituted aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon and involved an “extreme degree of risk.”

The case dates back to April 2020, when Mayweather and Jacobs became involved in a physical confrontation at NBA YoungBoy’s residence. Mayweather later pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and received six years of probation in 2022.

Jacobs alleged that the attack caused serious and lasting injuries, including permanent impairment involving her arm. NBA YoungBoy was named in the civil lawsuit, but the claims against him did not proceed to a trial verdict.

The judge has also ordered Mayweather to provide financial information, including bank accounts, contractual obligations and revenue sources, in connection with the judgment.

Now, after years of legal proceedings, Yaya Mayweather is facing a $50.1 million civil judgment tied to an incident that made headlines back in 2020.
