Trina Braxton is mourning the loss of her husband, Von Scales.

The Braxton family announced Scales’ passing, asking fans and supporters to respect the family’s privacy as they navigate the heartbreaking loss.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Von Scales, beloved husband of Trina Braxton,” a representative for the Braxton family told TMZ.

The family added, “The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers but is asking for privacy at this time as they navigate this unfortunate event.”

According to sources close to the family, Scales died around 2 a.m. Thursday in Atlanta. Sources said he had been battling heart-related problems. His official cause of death has not been disclosed.

Scales was 58.

Trina and Von married in 2019, with their wedding becoming part of the Braxton family’s reality television story on The Braxtons.

The marriage came one year after Trina’s former husband, Gabriel Solis, died.
