Tory Lanez Moved To A Safer Facility After Surviving Brutal Prison Stabbing
Tory Lanez is recovering after surviving a near-fatal stabbing at the California Correctional Institution (CCI) in Tehachapi, where he was attacked and stabbed 14 times — an assault so severe both of his lungs collapsed.
As of Thursday morning, sources confirm the rapper has been transferred to California Men’s Colony (CMC), a state prison in San Luis Obispo, approximately three hours from his previous facility. The move was made strictly for safety reasons after officials determined they could no longer ensure his well-being at CCI.
Lanez’s attorney, Crystal Morgan, tells TMZ Hip Hop that while he is recovering well given the traumatic injuries, he’s not thrilled about being relocated to CMC, especially after building a personal support system behind bars in Tehachapi.
Despite the violence and upheaval, Lanez’s legal team is working tirelessly to overturn his 10-year sentence for the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. His attorneys are preparing to request a pardon from California Governor Gavin Newsom, citing significant new and previously mishandled evidence.
