Sexyy Red Says $500K In Designer Bags & Jewelry Were Stolen During Mom’s Birthday Retreat, Blames Security Guard In New Lawsuit
Sexyy Red is taking legal action after claiming she and her family were victims of a major burglary that resulted in more than $500,000 worth of luxury items being stolen during a private birthday getaway for her mother.
According to a new lawsuit, the St. Louis rapper rented a mansion in Florida in January 2025 to celebrate her mother’s birthday with family and close friends. However, what was supposed to be a memorable retreat allegedly turned into a costly nightmare.
Court documents claim a masked individual entered the property through an unlocked door on January 12 and made off with a massive collection of valuables. The stolen items reportedly included designer handbags, luxury watches, necklaces, rings, bracelets, charms, and other high-end jewelry with a combined value of at least $500,000.
Sexyy Red alleges that she hired a security team to protect the property during the celebration and is now holding security guard Carl Thompson responsible for the loss. According to the lawsuit, police launched an investigation and determined that a door had been left unlocked prior to the burglary.
The rapper claims Thompson was the last person to leave the property before the break-in occurred and says his failure to properly secure the mansion directly contributed to the theft.
Now, Sexyy is seeking more than $500,000 in damages through her lawsuit.
The legal battle adds another twist to an ongoing dispute between the rapper and Thompson. According to court records, Thompson previously sued Sexyy Red and members of her team in August 2025, claiming he worked as her personal security guard from May 2023 through December 2024.
In his lawsuit, Thompson alleged he was promised an annual salary of $180,000 and claimed he was underpaid by more than $80,000 during his employment. Sexyy Red has denied those allegations and responded with her own countersuit, arguing that Thompson’s negligence led to the burglary.
The case remains active as both sides continue battling their claims in court.
