OBJ’s New York Comeback Comes to a Quick End After Three Quiet Games

Odell Beckham Jr.’s second run with the New York Giants is officially over.

After making the team’s 53-man roster and creating plenty of buzz around his return to the organization where he became an NFL superstar, Beckham was released by the Giants following just three games, according to reports.

The 33-year-old wide receiver’s return to Big Blue had fans wondering if OBJ could turn back the clock and give New York another memorable chapter. Instead, his second act ended before he could make much of an impact.

Through three games, Beckham was targeted just once and finished with zero receptions.

OBJ had been listed as the Giants’ fourth receiver, limiting his opportunities to get on the field and make an impact. With limited snaps and targets, the former All-Pro never really had a chance to get into a rhythm.

The Giants’ quarterback situation also hasn’t exactly provided stability. Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered an injury just a handful of plays into the team’s second game, while veteran backup Jameis Winston has been tasked with keeping the offense moving.
