Fetty Wap Coming Home Early! 🎤✨ New Release Date Moved Up as Fans Get Ready for the Return of a 2010s Hitmaker
Fetty Wap is officially one step closer to freedom — and fans are hyped about it.
Since his incarceration, the Trap Queen hitmaker has been mostly absent from the hip-hop landscape, with only the occasional family update or #FreeFetty message keeping his name alive. Once one of the most influential voices of the 2010s, Fetty’s rise was abruptly halted after his federal drug trafficking conviction landed him a six-year sentence.
But now, there’s real movement in his case.
According to Us Weekly, the 34-year-old rapper’s release date has been shifted once again — this time in his favor. Fetty Wap is now set to be released December 8, 2026, a major jump from the previous date of March 2027, and even earlier than the adjustment to January 8. Although the court hasn’t explained the reason for the latest change, the news has sparked a wave of excitement across social media.
Supporters say it’s the hope they’ve been waiting for.
Currently housed at FCI Sandstone, a low-security federal prison in Minnesota, Fetty will remain under five years of supervised probation once he’s released. Though fans had hoped for an even earlier date, this new timeline still marks significant progress toward his return home — and potentially his return to music.
His family has been vocal throughout the process. Earlier this year, Fetty’s sister, Divinity Maxwell-Butts, called for a second chance for her brother. Emphasizing that the offense was nonviolent and that Fetty had fully accepted responsibility, she pushed for leniency and mercy.
“He has taken responsibility for his actions and served a substantial part of his sentence for a nonviolent crime,” she wrote, launching a hashtag campaign urging officials to consider a pardon. Her advocacy mirrors the feelings of many fans who want to see the New Jersey star reunited with his children and loved ones.
Even from behind bars, Fetty’s musical footprint hasn’t faded. Hip-hop lovers still revisit his run of chart-toppers and the infectious melodies that defined his breakout era. Occasional photos and updates reminding fans of the man behind the music have helped keep his legacy alive.
Now, with the holiday season approaching, the new release date feels like a gift — a reminder that redemption, rebirth, and new chapters are always possible.
Fetty Wap’s comeback may be closer than anyone expected.
