Rapper Boosie Badazz is speaking out following the verdict in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial, sharing an emotional and controversial take that centers on family, race, and legacy.

In a candid livestream, Boosie made it clear he’s relieved Combs avoided the most serious charges—sex trafficking and RICO—though the Bad Boy mogul was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

“Man, I’m so glad Diddy free, bro,” Boosie said. “You know, the reason is because I’m tired of seeing us Black moguls get took down like that. And I’m tired of seeing us Black people go against us Black moguls like that.”

Boosie questioned whether the reaction would have been different had Diddy been white, arguing that many in the hip-hop community forget how much Combs has contributed to the culture.

“If he was white, they would’ve had so many white people out there protesting for this man, losing his life behind a relationship,” he continued. “People always say Boosie be on Diddy’s side. No. It ain’t Diddy. It’s them damn children.”

Boosie went on to say his concern lies with Diddy’s seven kids, comparing their situation to his own children’s experience growing up with a father in and out of legal trouble.

“I’m thinking about these seven kids who been in my kid’s position. Not knowing if your daddy gonna come home or not—it’s a burden on the child,” he said. “So all y’all was like, ‘No, no.’ I’m thinking about them damn children, man.”

While Boosie acknowledged domestic violence allegations against Combs, he emphasized that the jury had spoken and expressed happiness for Diddy’s family.

“I don’t feel he was guilty of nothing but domestic violence,” he said. “But the court spoke, man. I’m happy for them children, man.”

Before ending his remarks, Boosie offered some unsolicited advice for Diddy:

“Diddy, sit your ass down for a while. That’s what you need to do. Grab Stevie J in your chair and get the fuck on.”
