Tyler Perry’s ‘Beauty in Black’ Gets Surprise Season 4 Renewal Before Season 3 Even Drops!

Tyler Perry and Netflix aren’t done with Beauty in Black just yet.

In a surprising move, Netflix has officially renewed the hit drama series for Season 4—before Season 3 has even premiered.

The announcement comes after the streaming giant previously revealed in December that the show would conclude with a third and final season. Now, those plans have changed, giving fans even more of the Bellarie family’s drama to look forward to.

The renewal follows the massive success of Season 2, which was released in two parts and spent six weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10, reaching the No. 1 spot in 17 countries.

Created, written, directed and executive produced by Tyler Perry, Beauty in Black follows the intertwining lives of Kimmie (Taylor Polidore Williams) and Mallory (Crystle Stewart).

The series centers around the powerful Bellarie family, whose luxury beauty empire hides dark secrets involving betrayal, crime and an underground trafficking operation.

Season 2 saw Kimmie transform from an overlooked woman struggling to survive into a fearless force determined to rescue her kidnapped sister and take revenge on those who wronged her.

In the upcoming third season, Kimmie finally earns a seat at the Bellarie family table. However, peace doesn’t last long as a deadly family feud erupts, forcing Kimmie and Mallory into an uneasy alliance while navigating blackmail, revenge and long-buried secrets that threaten to destroy the family’s empire from within.

Although Netflix has not yet announced a premiere date for Season 3, Perry says there’s still plenty more story to tell.

“Beauty in Black is back for Season 4, and the Bellarie family’s story is far from finished,” Perry said. “There was so much more I wanted to explore, and I’m grateful I get to keep telling this story. To the audience that has been on this ride with us from Day 1, thank you for watching and sharing it with the world. More episodes are on the way!”
