New alleged text messages are now being brought into the spotlight as Tyler Perry’s legal team pushes back hard against sexual assault and sexual battery claims made by Mario Rodriguez.

According to messages obtained and shared publicly, Rodriguez allegedly sent Perry a series of texts on August 31, weeks before filing his lawsuit. In the messages, Rodriguez reportedly tells Perry he hasn’t been feeling well and blames ongoing dental issues. He allegedly admits he has no health insurance and expresses fear that his condition could worsen, even mentioning concerns about sepsis and dying like his father.

In the same alleged exchange, Rodriguez reportedly acknowledges that he had previously promised not to ask Perry for anything, but says he’s scared and just wants reassurance that his health issues aren’t serious.

Other alleged messages from earlier in 2024 show Rodriguez thanking Perry for “everything” and expressing affection and appreciation toward him.

The resurfaced messages come shortly after Rodriguez filed a $77 million lawsuit, accusing Perry of making unwanted sexual advances and alleging that Perry grabbed his penis during one encounter.

Perry has strongly denied the allegations. His attorney, Alex Spiro, issued a statement calling the lawsuit “nothing but a $77 million money grab scam,” pointing to the alleged messages as proof of questionable motives.

As of now, Rodriguez has not publicly responded to the release of the alleged texts. The claims on both sides remain unproven, and the case is expected to play out in court.

This situation continues to unfold as public opinion remains sharply divided between those calling for accountability and others questioning the timing and intent behind the lawsuit.
