Tyler Perry Reunites the Crew in New ‘Why Did I Get Married Again?’ Trailer Ahead of Netflix Premiere

Nearly two decades after Tyler Perry first gathered a group of friends for an unforgettable examination of love, marriage and friendship, the crew is getting back together.

The second official trailer for Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Again? has arrived, offering audiences a deeper look at the long-awaited reunion ahead of its September 9 premiere on Netflix.

Several familiar faces return, including Tyler Perry, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Sharon Leal, Lamman Rucker, Richard T. Jones and Jill Scott, reconnecting audiences with characters whose complicated relationships helped make the original films fan favorites.

This time, however, the group is older, life has changed, and the questions surrounding love and commitment have evolved with them.

The new film also introduces Taraji P. Henson to the franchise alongside Da’Vinchi, adding fresh energy to a story built around longtime friendships and relationships. Da’Vinchi, Armani Greer, Everett Osborne, Laya DeLeon Hayes, Jaden Michael, Sydney Winbush, Charles L. Smith II, and Derrick A. King. Netflix officially announced all eight as additions to the returning ensemble. 

The original Why Did I Get Married? debuted in 2007, followed by Why Did I Get Married Too? in 2010. Both films became memorable entries in Perry’s catalog, balancing comedy and drama while exploring infidelity, divorce, friendship, family and the realities behind seemingly perfect marriages.

Now, a generation of viewers who grew up with these characters gets to see what love, friendship and marriage look like years later.

Same friendships. New chapters. And once again, one big question: Why did I get married?
