Us Weekly has exclusively learned that Porsha Williams’ estranged husband, Simon Guobadia, has been deported back to his native country after spending several months at the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.

Guobadia, 61, was quietly released from ICE custody and placed on a flight a few days ago, according to his friend and business partner, Tai Savet. “Simon is in good spirits despite the difficult experience,” Savet shared, describing the months-long detention as Guobadia’s first time ever being behind bars.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security no longer lists Guobadia in its system, signaling the conclusion of his legal saga in the U.S. Us Weekly obtained a selfie Guobadia took on Monday, June 9, following his release and deportation.

Savet also told Us that Guobadia harbors no ill will toward former President Donald Trump despite the policies that led to his detention. “In fact,” Savet said, “Simon would actually welcome a sit-down with Trump.”

Guobadia and his team have launched a new business venture aimed at supporting others facing immigration detention. The initiative includes the sale of T-shirts with proceeds going toward helping people in ICE custody.

Guobadia’s immigration history has long been mired in controversy. After first arriving in the United States in 1982, he allegedly overstayed his visa. He was deported in 1992 but somehow managed to return and gain permanent residency the same year, reportedly under an “undisclosed identity,” according to WSB-TV. Despite multiple attempts over the years, he was never able to obtain U.S. citizenship.

Guobadia was detained back in February as part of a broader government push on immigration enforcement. His removal brings another twist to his ongoing separation from reality TV star Porsha Williams.
