Mia Thornton has officially confirmed her exit from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Potomac. In a statement shared on Instagram, she revealed that she and her family are relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, and she will not be returning for the show’s upcoming season. “With every new season comes a new beginning,” Thornton wrote. “My family and I have made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season”  .

Thornton joined the RHOP cast in Season 6, quickly becoming known for her bold personality and candidness. Her departure follows a tumultuous Season 9 reunion, during which she left the set after a heated exchange with co-star Gizelle Bryant, who accused her of being a “terrible mother” .

Speculation about Thornton’s future on the show intensified after the reunion incident and reports of her spending more time in Atlanta. In a previous interview, she expressed admiration for the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast, stating, “The way they were showing ATL; the way that the girls were showing up, they looked good. I just felt like the [RHOA cast] liked each other. They looked like they were real friends. I’m like, ‘I want to be part of a real friend crew…’” .

As Thornton embarks on this new chapter in Atlanta, fans are left to speculate whether this move could lead to future appearances on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
