⚖️ Metro Boomin Found Not Liable In Civil Rape Case After Jury Verdict
After a heated three-day trial, superstar producer Metro Boomin walked out of court a free man after a jury found him not liable on all counts in a civil lawsuit accusing him of rape.
On Thursday, Sept. 25, the jury delivered its decision after less than two hours of deliberations. According to Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon, Metro beat all four causes of action: sexual assault, sexual battery, Ralph Act, and gender violence.
Following the verdict, Metro spoke briefly outside the courthouse, clearly relieved by the outcome. “I’m blessed and glad the truth prevailed,” he told reporters, including legal journalist Meghann Cuniff.
The lawsuit was brought last year by Vanessa LeMaistre, who accused Metro of sexually assaulting her in a Las Vegas hotel room back in 2016 after giving her a half Xanax pill and a shot of liquor. She alleged she became pregnant from the encounter and later terminated the pregnancy.
The case went to trial on Sept. 23, with both LeMaistre and Metro taking the stand to testify. After failed settlement talks earlier this year, the jury was left to decide — and ultimately cleared the Atlanta hitmaker of any wrongdoing.
For now, Metro Boomin can finally turn his focus back to music after a courtroom battle that had the industry watching closely.
