Megan Thee Stallion’s Lawyer Responds to Tory Lanez’s Legal Claims

Megan Thee Stallion’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has issued a firm statement in response to recent claims from Tory Lanez’s legal team suggesting new evidence points to Megan’s former best friend, Kelsey Harris, as the shooter in the 2020 incident.

In a statement to XXL, Spiro said, “Tory Lanez was tried and convicted by a jury of his peers and his case was properly adjudicated through the court system. This is not a political matter — this is a case of a violent assault that was resolved in the court of law.”

The response follows renewed efforts by Lanez’s team to have his conviction overturned. The Canadian rapper recently shared a petition via Instagram urging California Governor Gavin Newsom to pardon him. This campaign comes after Lanez’s attorneys claimed to possess evidence allegedly exonerating him and identifying Harris as the shooter.

Gianno Caldwell, a conservative political commentator and Lanez advocate, stated, “Mr. Peterson was never given a fair trial, free from bias.”

On May 14, the nonprofit United the People held a press conference highlighting what they believe is credible evidence proving Lanez, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, did not fire the shots. “Mr. Peterson never shot anybody. Never even touched the gun,” attorney Walter Roberts declared during the event.

As of now, neither Megan Thee Stallion nor Kelsey Harris has directly responded to the latest developments.
