Jagmeet Singh Apologizes to Drake & OVO After Drake Called Him a “Goof”

In a surprising turn of events, Canadian federal politician Jagmeet Singh issued a public apology to Drake and OVO following a tense exchange that sparked wide discussion online.

After attending Kendrick Lamar’s concert in Toronto on June 12, Singh was privately messaged by Drake. The rapper bluntly called him a “goof” for showing up at Lamar’s show—part of Drake’s ongoing feud with Lamar—referencing the competitive history between the two hip-hop giants.

Rather than brushing it off, Drake reportedly shared the screenshot of the DM publicly, bringing the exchange into the spotlight.

In a follow-up statement released via social media, Singh acknowledged that attending the concert may have unintentionally caused offense to Drake and his team.

He expressed respect for Drake’s career and legacy, stating, “I apologize to Drake and OVO for any disrespect my actions may have implied. As a proud Canadian, I’ve always supported Drake, and it was never my intention to create division.” The apology aimed to mend fences and show deference to his fellow Canadian artist.
