Erica Banks Arrested For Allegedly Bringing Stolen Gun To Airport

Erica Banks just had a serious run-in with airport authorities, and it’s got her name back in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

According to The Shade Room, the Love & Hip Hop star was arrested after TSA agents at Atlanta’s airport allegedly discovered a firearm inside her Louis Vuitton bag. But that’s not all — the gun was reportedly flagged as stolen out of Greenville, South Carolina.

Banks, who was on her way from Atlanta to Houston, was taken into custody on August 6 and booked into Clayton County Jail. Fortunately for the rapper, her stay behind bars was short — she was released just over an hour later.

Her legal team is already fighting back. In a statement, her attorney insisted that Banks had no knowledge the firearm was stolen:

“It is our contention that when she was caught with this weapon, she had no idea it was stolen,” the lawyer said. “So she is not guilty of any offense. And once we get to court on this case, my job is to make sure this never becomes a part of her criminal history and to have these charges dismissed.”

While the situation is still developing, Banks appears confident in her legal defense — and fans are waiting to see how it all plays out in court.
