Brooklyn’s own Busta Rhymes—the inimitable wordsmith known for his rapid-fire delivery and over-the-top visuals—finally got his well-earned props as he received his 2,818th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on August 1, 2025, at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard, with a stage full of icons there to back him up.

The emcee, radio heavyweight Big Boy, set the tone, while legends like Chris Rock, LL Cool J, and Chuck D turned up to honor the legend. Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame, highlighted Busta as “one of Hip-Hop’s most enduring and electrifying voices,” noting his undeniable impact on American culture.

With over 20 million albums sold worldwide, 12 Grammy nominations, and a catalog of visual classics like “Break Ya Neck,” “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” and “Touch It,” Busta’s star couldn’t have come without serious legacy.

When his name was unveiled, the hip-hop veteran got emotional:

“I worked so hard and I never asked for a shortcut… I never asked for a cheat code…I want to thank those people [who raised me right]. I feel born again today. I feel complete today.”

He went on to pay deep respects to Chuck D, who not only believed in him early on but also “gave him the name”—turning Chill-O-Skee into the unforgettable Busta Rhymes.

From his Leaders of the New School roots to redefining hip-hop through jaw-dropping performance videos and unmatched energy, Busta’s star is more than a sidewalk plaque—it’s a testament to a career that changed the game.
