The world continues to mourn the loss of country music icon Dolly Parton, and some of entertainment’s biggest names are sharing heartfelt words about the woman whose music, generosity and influence stretched across generations.

Beyoncé was among those honoring Parton, reflecting on the country legend’s impact and the example she set throughout her remarkable career. The two artists became creatively connected during Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter era, with Dolly appearing on the Grammy-winning project before Beyoncé delivered her own reimagining of Parton’s classic “Jolene.”

In her tribute, Beyoncé described Dolly as a guiding force whose legacy was built on “love, compassion, and resilience,” while celebrating the generations of artists and fans she inspired.

Taylor Swift also shared an emotional message, admitting, “A world without Dolly doesn’t feel possible, real, or right.” Swift went on to describe Parton as “the gift that kept on giving,” praising her ability to remain compassionate while standing firmly in her worth as an artist. She remembered Dolly as someone who embodied both “true grace and true grit.”

Oprah Winfrey reflected on her own personal memories with Parton, recalling the fun they shared wearing Bob Mackie gowns together on Dolly’s television show. Oprah celebrated the Tennessee native for dreaming beyond her beginnings and using her success to give back to others.

“She brought the light, and we are all better because she was here,” Oprah shared, before adding, “God bless you, Dolly—you earned your wings.”

And judging by the voices now coming together to honor her, Dolly Parton wasn’t simply a country music legend.
