Attempted Murder Warrant Issued for Antonio Brown After Miami Boxing Event Shooting Incident

Antonio Brown is once again at the center of serious legal trouble — and this time, it could cost him his freedom.

Following a violent altercation at a Miami boxing event last month, a warrant has now been issued for the former NFL wide receiver’s arrest, accusing him of attempted murder with a firearm, according to a report by David Ovalle of The Washington Post.

While no arrests were initially made at the time of the incident, disturbing new details have since emerged. Witnesses told police that Brown was the shooter, and footage reportedly shows him punching another man, seizing a firearm from a security officer, and then firing two shots while running toward the man he had just attacked.

In a follow-up interview with detectives, the victim alleged that Brown ran toward him with a gun and fired twice, one of the bullets possibly grazing his neck.

Brown had originally claimed he was the one who was jumped at the event and was allowed to leave after telling authorities his side of the story. However, cellphone footage and eyewitness testimony tell a different tale, including audio of what sounded like gunfire that circulated on social media in the days following the altercation.

The newly issued warrant includes the following conditions:

• $10,000 bond
• House arrest pending trial

At this time, Brown has not been taken into custody, and it’s unclear if he has hired legal representation.

Antonio Brown, a former Pro Bowler who spent 12 years in the NFL with teams including the Steelers, Patriots, and Buccaneers, has had a highly publicized post-football career marred by legal troubles, outbursts, and erratic behavior. But this charge — attempted murder — is by far the most serious to date.

If convicted, Brown could be facing significant prison time, marking a dramatic and troubling turn for a once-celebrated athlete.
