Former Turkey Leg Hut owner Nakia Holmes is hosting a special pop-up event on Saturday, June 13, at The Quad, located at 4608 Almeda in Houston. The venue sits just a few blocks away from the restaurant’s original Third Ward location, giving longtime supporters a chance to reconnect with one of the city’s most iconic food brands.

The announcement has generated major buzz throughout Houston, where Turkey Leg Hut once stood as a cultural landmark known for its oversized stuffed turkey legs, celebrity visitors, viral social media moments, and lines stretching around the block.

Ahead of the event, Holmes stopped by Majic 102.1 to discuss the pop-up and address recent developments involving her former business partner, Lyndell “Lynn” Price.

During the interview, Holmes revealed she had recently learned that Price pleaded guilty in federal court to conspiracy to commit arson in connection with the 2020 firebombing of Bar 5015, a nightclub located near Turkey Leg Hut. According to federal prosecutors, Price admitted to directing others to carry out the attack by transporting gasoline to the business and intentionally setting it on fire.

The guilty plea comes just days before Holmes’ highly anticipated event, but she made it clear that nothing will stop the celebration.
