Memphis Grizzlies Star Ja Morant Sued For Allegedly Punching A 17-Year-Old During A Pick-Up Game.
According to docs obtained by TMZ, the 17-year-old said the Grizzlies’ point guard approached him after an argument. Morant then approached the kid and put his chin on his shoulder, and asked a bystander “Should I do it to him?”
The teen says Morant then struck him with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground. Morant then continued sticking him while on the ground and claims another man jumped in and began hitting him as well.
Complex spoke with a rep for the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and, they confirmed that it previously declined to move forward with the case on its end.
“The DA’s office is aware of the incident, and after careful review of the facts, decided that there was not enough evidence to proceed with a case,” the rep told Complex in an email. “We cannot comment on a pending lawsuit.”
