Tory Lanez’s Alleged Prison Attacker Identified as Lifelong Inmate Santino Casio

The inmate accused of stabbing rapper Tory Lanez in a California prison earlier this week has been identified as 42-year-old Santino Casio, a convicted felon already serving a life sentence, The Post has confirmed.

A spokesperson from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) revealed that Casio is currently under investigation for allegedly assaulting Lanez inside a housing unit at the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. The incident occurred on Monday, May 12, at approximately 7:20 a.m. PT.

Casio’s criminal history is extensive and dates back to 2004. He is serving life with the possibility of parole for convictions including second-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, personal use of a deadly weapon, and inflicting great bodily injury.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is currently incarcerated following his 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of rapper Megan Thee Stallion. His current condition following the alleged attack has not yet been publicly disclosed.

The investigation into the stabbing remains ongoing, and further details are expected as the CDCR continues its review.
