Rick Ross Honored with Street Renaming in Hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi

Rapper and entrepreneur Rick Ross was honored in a special street renaming ceremony Monday in his birthplace of Clarksdale, Mississippi. The city officially renamed a downtown street “Rick Ross Way” in recognition of his cultural influence and philanthropic efforts.

The ceremony was held in front of the WingStop at 300 Issaquena Avenue, with local leaders, family, and community members in attendance.

“Rick Ross has deep roots in Clarksdale… and has made a powerful impact on both the music industry and the business world,” the city said in a statement.

Ross, proudly accepting the honor, told the crowd, “We just named this street… Rick Ross Way. The energy, it’s priceless. Let’s keep shining. Clarksdale, much love, baby. The Boss.”

The event marked a historic moment for Clarksdale as it celebrated one of its own for his achievements in music, business, and culture.
