Papoose Advocates Against Rap Lyrics Used As Evidence In Court

Papoose joins the movement against using rap lyrics as evidence in court, advocating for change at the New York State Capitol. He presented the AB127 bill, arguing that creativity shouldn’t be weaponized against artists. The bill aims to safeguard artistic expression, particularly in hip-hop and rap, from unjust prosecution.

Papoose emphasized the importance of protecting artists’ freedom of speech and preventing the misuse of lyrics in legal proceedings. Additionally, he highlighted the impact on Black and Brown artists and the need for clear legal guidelines. Last year, Fat Joe also spoke out, defending Young Thug and criticizing the use of lyrics as evidence in criminal cases.
