Nelly Speaks on Being Intentional About Marrying Ashanti

In a recent interview on the Bootleg Kev podcast, Nelly opened up about his relationship with Ashanti and the intentionality behind their decision to marry. When asked about their ability to keep the wedding under wraps until after it happened, Nelly shared that once they found out they were expecting a child, it made sense to take that step.

“I didn’t want her to be, you know, a baby mama,” Nelly explained. He emphasized that their relationship was already strong, and they were both at a point in life where marriage felt right. Despite not having explicitly talked about marriage before, Nelly knew it was the right time.
