Nelly & Ashanti Bring Christmas Magic Home: Couple Donates 100 Bikes to St. Louis Kids

Nelly and Ashanti teamed up with Raising Cane’s to spread real holiday joy in St. Louis, proving once again that giving back never goes out of style.

On December 22, 2024, the couple surprised kids at the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis with 100 brand-new bicycles and helmets during the organization’s annual holiday party at the Adams Park location. The gym was transformed into a festive winter wonderland, filled with red-ribboned bikes, holiday cookies, drinks, Santa hats, and nonstop smiles.

For Nelly, the moment hit close to home. The St. Louis native spoke candidly about growing up without much under the Christmas tree and how meaningful it was to change that story for today’s youth.

“I know what it’s like to wake up on Christmas and nothing is under the tree,” Nelly shared. “That’s not hyperbole. That’s facts. To see their faces again—that’s what it’s about. Christmas is about the kids.”

Ashanti echoed the emotion, noting that the cause is personal for her as well. The singer is a former Boys & Girls Club member, making the experience full circle.

“It’s just beautiful to see all the kids and all the excitement,” Ashanti said.

Brandon Williams, president and CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater St. Louis, praised the couple for providing more than gifts—calling the event an experience that showed kids they are seen, valued, and supported.

“Moments like this let our young people know somebody cares about them,” Williams said.

During the event, Nelly and Ashanti personally handed out bikes, posed for photos with families, and spoke to the press about the importance of mentorship, community, and investing in the next generation.

The giveaway was part of a larger national initiative by Raising Cane’s, which donated more than 2,500 bicycles across 25 cities during the holiday season to promote healthy, active lifestyles among youth.

For the kids in St. Louis, though, it wasn’t about numbers—it was about joy, memories, and a Christmas they won’t forget.
