Michael B. Jordan Named During Jury Selection in Diddy Sex Trafficking Trial For Romantic Relationship With Cassie

Actor Michael B. Jordan has been named during jury selection in the ongoing federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, which began on May 5, 2025. The mention of Jordan’s name reportedly stems from his brief romantic involvement with Combs’ former partner, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, in 2015.

Ventura, who filed a lawsuit against Combs in November 2023, has accused the music mogul of sex trafficking, domestic violence, and other serious offenses. According to her complaint, Combs became enraged upon discovering her relationship with Jordan, allegedly issuing threats against the actor. Although Jordan is not implicated in the case, his name surfaced during the jury vetting process to assess any potential biases among jurors.

Combs faces a series of grave federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. Prosecutors allege that he operated a criminal network through his label, Bad Boy Records, and organized exploitative sexual encounters referred to as “freak offs.” Combs has pleaded not guilty and remains in federal custody following his September 2024 arrest. If convicted, he could face life in prison.

The jury selection process has been especially thorough, given the case’s high-profile nature and intense media scrutiny. Jurors have been asked about their awareness of various celebrities, including Jordan, to ensure impartiality.

While Michael B. Jordan is not expected to be involved further in the trial, his past connection to Ventura highlights the far-reaching impact of the case as it unfolds in federal court.
