The tragic case surrounding the death of rapper T-Hood is nearing a turning point. Police say the gunman — Ky Frost, son of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta stars Kirk and Rasheeda Frost — acted in self-defense when he fatally shot the rapper in August.

According to TMZ Hip Hop, Gwinnett County PD has wrapped up its investigation and is preparing to send the report to the District Attorney. While cops believe Ky shouldn’t face charges, the D.A. will ultimately decide his fate.

Investigators say the deadly incident began when Tevin Hood (T-Hood) confronted Ky at a residence in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Police claim Tevin started the fight and pulled out a firearm first. Ky allegedly drew his own weapon in response and fired, striking and killing the rapper.

For now, prosecutors will review the case and determine whether to formally charge Ky. Police, however, are standing firm on their conclusion that it was self-defense.
