Kanye West Dropped by Talent Agency Following Antisemitic Rants and Spotify Shut Down Yeezy.com
Kanye West, now known as Ye, has been dropped by his talent agency, 33&West, following his recent antisemitic remarks online. Music agent Daniel McCartney made the announcement on Instagram on Monday, February 10, stating, “Effective immediately, I’m no longer representing YE (F/K/A Kanye West) due to his harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33 & West can stand for.” McCartney signed off with, “peace and love.”
This decision comes amid mounting controversy over Ye’s behavior. His Yeezy website, which had been selling a swastika-themed T-shirt, has now been pulled down following widespread backlash. Shopify, the platform processing sales for the site, confirmed to Variety that Ye violated its terms of service. “All merchants are responsible for following the rules of our platform,” a Shopify representative stated. “This merchant did not engage in authentic commerce practices and violated our terms, so we removed them from Shopify.” An error message now appears where the Yeezy site once stood.
