In the emotional caption, Justin reflected on their many memories together, recalling how Bruce would encourage him to spend his $20 allowance on Friday night hockey games and the unforgettable moments when Bruce would loudly heckle referees during Justin’s own games. The post captured not just the closeness they shared, but also the playful spirit Bruce brought into Justin’s early life.

According to an obituary published by W.G. Young Funeral Home in Stratford, Ontario, Bruce Dale “passed away peacefully at the Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on Thursday.” He was 80 years old.

Bruce played a special role in Justin’s life and career. As the father of Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, he supported Justin’s rise from a small-town talent to a global superstar. He even appeared in the 2011 documentary Never Say Never, proudly standing beside Justin during the whirlwind early years of fame. In 2018, Bruce became emotional when speaking about Justin’s incredible journey during an interview at the Stratford Perth Museum, which had launched an exhibit dedicated to Justin’s life and career.

The obituary also mentioned that Justin, his wife Hailey, and their son Jack-Blues are among the many family members Bruce leaves behind, along with his wife, Diane, and several children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

TMZ reports they have reached out to Justin’s representatives for comment but have yet to receive a response.
