Janelle Monáe Shares That She Is Non-Binary: ‘I Just Don’t See Myself As a Woman, Solely’
Janelle Monae sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith, Willow Smith on Red Table Talk for their season premiere. You guys already know the red table is a safe space for telling all your business and healing. Janelle as been open about her sexuality since 2018 when she revealed in her RollingStone cover story she was bisexual of pansexual. She shared with then Red Table that she now identify as non-binary.
“I’m nonbinary, so I just don’t see myself as a woman, solely,” Monáe said on “Red Table Talk. “I feel all of my energy. I feel like God is so much bigger than the ‘he’ or the ‘she.’ If I am from God, I am everything. I am everything, but I will always, always stand with women. I will always stand with Black women. But I just see everything beyond the binary.”
