Actor and comedian Jamie Foxx is setting the record straight on the wild conspiracy theories surrounding his 2023 medical emergency—including rumors that Sean “Diddy” Combs was involved.

In a candid roundtable conversation with comedians Hasan Minhaj, Chelsea Handler, Roy Wood Jr., Seth Meyers, and Sarah Silverman for The Hollywood Reporter, Foxx reflected on his time in the hospital and addressed the speculation head-on.

“I was doing so many jokes in the hospital,” Foxx said. “That’s the only way I could get through it.” He described being heavily sedated with a cocktail of drugs, joking that it felt like he was “Men in Black-ed.”

But what caught the internet’s attention was Foxx’s direct dismissal of online conspiracies:

“I’m in perfect shape. Then I see [online], ‘Puffy tried to kill me.’ No, Puffy didn’t try to kill me.”

Foxx also poked fun at the bizarre rumor that he had been cloned. “When they said I was a clone, that made me flip… I snuck my phone in and saw it all.”

In a hilarious moment, Foxx revealed he even confronted a caregiver during his recovery. “I told him, ‘You’re trying to clone me and make me white so I’ll sell better overseas.’ He just said, ‘I think we’re going to lower your dosage.’”

Foxx’s humor, even in the face of serious health issues, reminded fans why he’s one of Hollywood’s most beloved talents—and why he’s not letting internet rumors dim his shine.
