The contentious post-divorce battle between former NBA star Iman Shumpert and singer-actress Teyana Taylor has intensified, with Shumpert now filing a motion to have Taylor found in criminal contempt. According to newly surfaced court documents, Shumpert is seeking a 20-day jail sentence and a $1,000 fine against his ex-wife, alleging she violated the confidentiality terms of their divorce.

Shumpert claims Taylor publicly discussed private details of their separation—details that were meant to remain sealed—causing him reputational harm and financial losses due to negative publicity. The motion also accuses Taylor of removing their children from school without notice, obstructing his scheduled parenting time, and making racially charged, derogatory remarks about him in front of the children—actions he says have damaged his bond with them.

This legal maneuver follows closely behind Taylor’s own motion weeks earlier, which accused Shumpert of leaking sealed court documents. Although Taylor initially sought contempt charges, she later clarified that she did not wish for him to be jailed.
