Iman Shumpert Breaks His Silence On Divorce From Teyana Taylor, Denies Leaking Court Documents

Iman Shumpert is finally opening up about the emotional toll of his divorce from Teyana Taylor — and setting the record straight on rumors surrounding leaked court documents.

In a new interview on Hot 97’s Tap In With TT, the former NBA star and “Dancing with the Stars” champ addressed the public’s fascination with his past relationship, acknowledging the beauty and visibility of their union. “We had great years together,” Shumpert said. “I can’t let this now cause me to just throw negative stuff in my mind.”

While he’s mostly unfazed by the media chatter, Shumpert admitted that some of the court filings hit hard. “It hurt to see,” he said. “But people were discussing the good stuff all the time too — we put it out there, so I can’t tell them not to discuss the bad.”

The athlete also directly denied leaking any divorce documents, seemingly taking issue with the way certain outlets — particularly in his hometown of Chicago — handled the situation. “Chicago ain’t allowed to do that… we don’t do that,” he said, expressing disappointment in the coverage from local media.

Despite the noise, Shumpert remains focused on fatherhood and personal growth. Asked whether he’s open to marriage or love again, he paused. “That was tough,” he admitted. “Right now, I need to chill with me for a little bit… I need to get me right. I got two kids now.”

For Shumpert, the separation may be behind him, but the healing — and rediscovery of self — continues.
