Georgia Man Sentenced To Federal Prison After Threatening To Kill President Trump On TikTok Live

A Georgia man will be spending the next several years behind bars after making violent threats against the President of the United States during a TikTok livestream.

Jauwan Porter, 30, of Rome, Georgia, was sentenced to three years and five months in federal prison after pleading guilty in October to transmitting interstate threats.

According to federal prosecutors, the incident happened last July during a TikTok livestream titled “Alligator Alcatraz.” During the stream, Porter allegedly posted a series of alarming comments, including threats directed at former President Donald Trump.

Authorities say he made multiple violent statements and even responded to a question about what he would do if federal agents showed up at his home, allegedly saying he would harm them and himself.

“Threatening to kill the President of the United States is an abhorrent crime that cannot be tolerated,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg in a statement following the sentencing.

Court records show Porter has prior convictions in Floyd County, including terroristic threats and acts (2018 and 2019), influencing a witness (2019), and unlawful act of violence in a penal institution (2023). Officials noted his criminal history during sentencing.

The case serves as another reminder that threats made online — even during livestreams — can carry very real legal consequences.
