Dave Chappelle may be thinking about revisiting one of the most iconic comedy shows of all time.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Chappelle admitted he is now open to the idea of bringing back Chappelle’s Show—something he previously shut down for years.

“If you’d asked me that question a year ago, I’d have told you absolutely not,” he said. “But in the last few weeks … I’m considering it.”

When Chappelle’s Show debuted in 2003, it changed comedy forever with its fearless takes on race, politics, and pop culture. The series became one of the most talked-about shows on television and is still considered one of the greatest sketch comedy programs ever made.

Fans were stunned when Chappelle walked away from the show in 2005 during production of Season 3, reportedly turning down a $50 million deal in the process. Over the years, he has explained that burnout and concerns over creative control played a big role in his decision.

In a later conversation with Oprah Winfrey, Chappelle admitted that some sketches from the show began to feel “socially irresponsible.”

Now, nearly two decades later, Dave Chappelle says he sees comedy differently and believes the industry has evolved with social media, digital platforms, and new voices entering the space.

While there are no official plans for a reboot just yet, his comments alone have fans excited about what could happen if he decides to return to the world of Chappelle’s Show.
